CELEBRATING CONNECTIONS ITALY JAPAN

This project brings Italian culture (especially film culture) to Japan.
The graphic proposal captures the essence of cinema and the brand suggests the cinematographic frame, anticipating the experience that the event offers. A bridge between cultures, an ode to the art of cinema, transported by the union between Italy and Japan.
I created the event brand, the poster, the logo animation and the guest presentation for Sara Ciocca, Lucia Borgonzoni, Francesco Centorame, Giacomo Mazzucato.

PROPOSAL #1 – CONCEPT

Cultural Depth: The “Celebrating Connection Italy-Japan” event does not limit itself to a superficial cinematic celebration but dives deeply into the culture of both countries, recognizing the importance of colors and symbols in communication and the human experience.
Harmony of Colours: The use of the red circle as the main graphic element offers a strong connection between Italy and Japan, highlighting the similarity between the two national flags and adding a distinctive touch to the brand identity:

  • Red in Japan is a sacred color but also vivid, strong and passionate
  • White represents spiritual and physical purification, symbolizing a new phase in human life, represented by the discovery of new films and cultures
  • Black, with its meaning of night and mystery, symbolizes the cinematic experience and the emotion found in cinema.

Union of Two Worlds: The brand represents the harmonious union between the Italian and Japanese cultures, the past and present, the cinematic experience.
Logo and Branding: The shape of the circle, a symbol of unity and harmony between the two cultures, effectively reflects the goal of the event. Emphasis on the red circle and the use of symbols related to cinema offer an appealing and consistent visual identity, while circles and lettering also allow for dynamic animation.

PROPOSAL #2 – CONCEPT

The “Pixel Fusion” brand captures the essence of cinema through its creative use of pixels representing cinematic shots, and alternatively the iconic clapperboard. These visual elements immediately recall the world of cinema and anticipate the cinematic experience that the event offers.
Japanese Pop Colours: The use of pop colours typical of Japanese culture lends a unique touch to the proposal, eschewing red and drawing on a color palette inspired by vibrant Japanese culture.
Merging Two Worlds: “Pixel Fusion” represents an opportunity to unite two distinct worlds, Italian and Japanese cinema, into one immersive experience. The brand embodies the fusion of these two cultures, representing their meeting in the world of cinema.

Fluids and Mixing: Fluid animations with a “fractal noise” effect represent the dynamic flow of ideas and influences mixing between Italy and Japan. This symbolizes the idea of cultural connection and exchange in an ever-evolving world. Use for both animated backgrounds and underlays.

PROPOSAL #3 – CONCEPT

A Bridge Between Two Cultures: The event ‘Celebrating Connection Italy-Japan’ was born with the aim of creating a cultural bridge between Italy and Japan through the universal medium of cinema. This initiative is aimed at celebrating and promoting the cultural diversity and cinematic art of both countries.

GRAPHIC PROPOSAL

The red thread represents the connection between the two cultures. This thread unites Italy and Japan, symbolising the close relationship that exists between them in an evocative manner.
The event logo, with the two mirrored ‘N’s’ in ‘CONNECTION’ visually joined by an animated red thread, visually represents the link between the two countries.I would like to make it a WOOL thread, more ‘warm’ as a sign

PROPOSAL #4 – CLIENT'S CHOICE

This proposal combines cinema’s typical elements, such as the clapperboard and the film framing. The background features entertainment personalities who participated in the Tokyo event, including young actor Francesco Centorame and musician Giacomo Mazzucato.
